Haiti - FLASH : Verdict of BCEN, Jovenel Moïse remains in the race...

Following the checks made this weekend, after a positive recourse given to presidential candidates, Maryse Narcisse of Fanmi Lavalas and Vilaire Cluny Duroseau de "Meksepa" and after deliberation, the Office of the National Electoral (BCEN) delivered its verdict :

50 Minutes checked on a random sample, were considered non-compliant because of irregularities. Consequently, the CTV will have to realize a new tabulation to take account of PV excluded from presidential elections of 25 October.

The request of Maryse Narcisse presidential candidate under the banner of the Fanmi Lavalas party requesting the exclusion of the candidate Jovenel Moïse (PHTK) was rejected by the BCEN.

The BCEN also rejected the request for the cancellation of the electoral process.

The challenge brought by the presidential candidate Cluny Duroseau under the banner "Meksepa" was dismissed, the judges considering that the required checks would not allow the candidate to advance in its ranking (42th position with 1,272 votes - 0.08%)

Following the decisions of the BCEN (last recourse), the final results of the first round of presidential elections should be published shortly.
