Haiti - Health : Training and development of health executives

With the financial support of "Health Financial Governance" (HFG), a program of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the technical support of Office of Management and Human Resources (OMRH), the Ministry of public Health recently held a workshop around the validation of its Annual Plan for Training and Development (PAFP), which met during two days, 70 officials of the Ministry coming from the central departments, the departmental directorates and university hospitals

Three areas of intervention were defined in the draft of the PAFP :

Area 1: Provide the Ministry of basic skills to deal with its mission (initial);

Axis 2: Strengthen the technical skills / clinical of service providers (training);

Area 3: Strengthening the managerial skills of managers (continouis training).

Note that several components have been identified through this plan. In the component "knowledge update in priority health programs," for example, one will proceed with the updating of medical knowledge and practices about malaria, tuberculosis, HIV / AIDS, family planning and health reproduction (FP / RH), immunization, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), cholera, rational use of essential drugs.

It should also emphasize another component, as important as the previous "Strengthening skills for care delivery or the implementation repair / rehabilitation action, which aims medical care in orthopedics / traumatology and interventions in biomedical maintenance, rehabilitation training and technicians ortho prosthesis.
