Haiti - FLASH : Shootout near the Solomon market, 3 dead and 2 injured

Saturday afternoon, following a theft at Salomon market, according to police sources, several unidentified gunmen opened fire on the crowd to facilitate their escape, spreading death and terror.

One person was killed in the market and two others injured. Outside, in their course, the robbers continued to shoot, killing a passenger in a car. Later they shot a student of the Faculty of Humanities (FASCH) of the State University of Haiti, identified as Steevenson Occeus aka "Ti Linèt" according to information reported by Waldoph Mortimer, the young Minister of justice of the Government Youth of Haiti (GHJ).

The Young Minister Mortimer in a statement, said he was appalled by this attack perpetrated by armed bandits. He urged the police and judicial authorities to take drastic measures that can stop these practices and offers strategic solutions against the proliferation of firearms in the juvenile especially in criminogenic areas that are the result of an accessibility to basic social needs and a lack of public policy of support for young people in violation of the law of the Republic "Considering that the majority of the crimes of the society are caused by Young; Considering that the authorities never asked the real problem of juvenile delinquency and social reintegration of Youth; With all these considerations, the GJH invites all active forces of the nation to address the challenges of this issue that eats the whole society for ages."
