Haiti - Literature : D-3, International Book Fair of Haiti

The 3rd edition of the International Book Fair of Haiti (FILHA) organized by the National Directorate of Books will be held from Friday 11 to Sunday, December 13, 2015 on Place Pétion at Champ de Mars.

The guest of honor of this edition of the fair is the writer Yanick Lahens.

Many Haitian authors will participate in this edition, including Rodney St Eloi, newly admitted to the Académie des lettres du Québec and Dany Laferrière, of the French Academy. The FILHA also hosts this year the American writer, known worldwide, Russell Banks.

In response to Québec encounters on 2013 and Amerindian Nights this year, Quebec will be honored with several writers. Other countries also participate in the FILHA which include: Venezuela, Cuba, Martinique France, Belgium...

The public is invited to books signatures sales, panel discussions, lectures, performances, discussions with authors ... Various activities will take place in the Reading and Cultural Activity Centres (CLAC) and as DNL, the Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL) at the French Institute of Haiti, at Yanvalou, to the National Bureau of Ethnology (BNE), the National Library, the Haitian National Pantheon Museum (MUPANAH), Café Philo, at Villate, at Ciné Triomphe, to the Ministries of Culture and Women's Affairs...

Lovers of literature will get a 50% discount on all books sold at the FILHA. Buses will be available to fifty schools and 100 gourdes coupons will be distributed through schools, in addition to the 50%.

This third edition of FILHA is supported by the DNL, Ministries: Culture, Communications, of National Education and that of Finance, the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), the French Institute Haiti (IFH) and FOKAL.
