Haiti - Sports : Congratulations to our athletes with disabilities

Sunday, Sabine Martelly, Secretary of State for Youth, Sports and Civic Action, attended the second edition of the race "Healthy Léogâne" (Léogâne en santé) at the initiative of the Léogâne Rotary Club.

Encouraged by hundreds of enthusiastic spectators, about a hundred disabled athletes, divided into three categories (wheelchair, crutches, prostheses) made the 600 meters starting from the street of the Grand Rue toward the streets Saint Yves and la Croix until the Hospital Street.

Intervening to the Awards ceremony on the Place Sainte Rose of Léogâne, the Secretary of State has warmly welcomed the participants and organizers of the race, noting that the cause of disabled people concerns her at the highest point "I wear the city of Léogâne in my heart. At the Ministry, we have seen fit to print the slogan 'Andikape pa elimine'

at the back of the shirts we have dedicated to the event, to signify to this category of people, we do not forget them."

This event was made possible thanks to the contribution of several institutions and companies including the National Police of Haiti (PNH), MINUSTAH, the water company Frechè lokal, the Hotel Arawak, Eva Bakery, Magepa SA, HARP and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Calixte Patience, Richard Jean Senghor, Berlina Exilien, Gicelène Pierre, Casimir Saint Lot have respectively won the pedals races, without pedal, with prostheses and crutches of the 2nd Edition of "Healthy Léogâne".
