Wednesday at the Primature, the Prime Minister, Evans Paul, accompanied by among others Dithny Joan Raton, the Minister of Culture and Stéphanie Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries proceeded during a ceremony at the official launch of the National Carnival 2016 and the presentation of the members of the Organizing Committee of this important social and cultural event.

he Head of Government recalled that Carnival had become a tradition, part of life of our people. A tradition that the Haitian State must protect and safeguard because it is one of the ingredients participating in the construction of the social life of the country. "This theme is a call for the consideration of the national interest over and above any other form of self-interest," stressed the Minister Raton who took the opportunity to announce the establishment, in the Ministry of Culture, of a Management Unit of the National Carnival, to improve the conduct of this popular manifestation of Haiti.

Note that the Ministers of Culture and Tourism and the Mayor of Port-au-Prince are respectively President, Vice President and member of honor of the Carnival 2016.
