Haiti - Security : Carnival 2016, the PNH is ready 06/02/2016 10:21:26
Recognizing that this year the carnival will take place in a difficult political context, political parties having announced protests Sunday, the first day of Carnival, ; he stressed that in addition to Carnival activities, arrangements have been taken to ensure security and public order throughout the country, adding that soldiers of the Minustah will be deployed outside the perimeter of the carnival. In terms of measures he cited the example of "systematic checks of vehicles and people, commissioning of relief points on the parade route" and reminded among others the prohibition to revelers to have in their possession knives and prohibitions to merchants to sell drinks in glass container during the three fat days. Departmental Directorate West of the PNH will assumed command of operations, the Central Directorate of Administrative Police, is responsible for overseeing operations and the Central Directorate of Administration and General Services will provide the logistics.
