Election date, the PM passes the ball to CEP

Thursday at the answers to the parliamentarians, by Prime Minister named Jean-Charles, regarding electoral dates contained in the Agreement of 5 February 2016, he stated that generally when the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) will again be in function, it will be its role to examine the feasibility of these dates and produce an electoral calendar.

Privert hopes a government installed Monday

Jocelerme Privert expressed hope that Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles, can be installed in his functions of Head of Government Monday, March 28, 2016, calling on parliamentarians to show good will and commitment for the members of the government to be invested in their function in the best delay. According to some informations the installation of the new Ministerial Cabinet which has 18 positions could occur tomorrow Saturday, March 26.

Desras ready for his new tasks

Simon Dieuseul Desras named Minister of Environment in the Ministerial Cabinet of the Prime Minister named Enex Jean-Charles declared "It is with patriotism that has always animated me I'll tackle the task that falls to me as Minister of the Environment."

Eventual Verification Commission, Sandra Honoré awaiting clarification...

Regarding the establishment of a possible electoral Verification Commission, Sandra Honoré, the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the UN in Haiti said on Wednesday "The continuing of the electoral process is an element, a provision of the agreement of 5 February. The verification request is a request made by several political actors and also actors from other areas of civil society. One can also see in the agreement of February 5, it is a question of an evaluation of steps already taken in the electoral process of 2015 [...]

Our position on the electoral process in 2015 was clear. We recognized the flaws after 9 August, we welcomed the corrective measures adopted by the Provisional Electoral Council for the election of 25 October and we also received the opinions and reports of electoral observation missions [national and international ] [...] According to the information we have of these missions, the irregularities were not sufficient to invalidate the electoral process that took place in 2015. We therefore expect to learn more about the establishment of a possible Commission on verification and the impact this process will have on the continuation of the electoral process according to the agreement of 5 February."
