On the occasion of this sad event, the Head of State present, on behalf of the Government and people of Haiti, his sincere condolences to Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa.

Ecuador has always been a country whose the active solidarity and contribution in Haiti's reconstruction effort are indisputable.

The President of the Republic, while wishing to see Ecuador recover quickly transmit his sympathies to relatives of victims, and gives the guarantee that Haiti remains in solidarity to the Ecuadorian people on the occasion of this tragedy."
