The MOPOD does not want Privert after May 14

Serge Jean-Louis, leader of the Popular Patriotic Movement dessalinien (MOPOD) said to be in favor of the establishment of the Commission of evaluation and electoral verification, while rejecting the continuation of the President a.i. Jocelerme Privert in power after May 14, 2016.

The CEP will not accept instructions from the Commission

Léopold Berlanger, President of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) said after a meeting in Parliament with the Senators on the electoral process, that the recommendations of the report of the Electoral Commission will not be imposed to CEP, noting that the electoral institution does not have to receive any nstructions from any entities. However, he stressed that the Commission's recommendations will be analyzed at the Electoral Council, which will decide if it is necessary to establish or not a new BCEN and take if appropriate, the necessary decisions.

Denial of the new Minister of Education

Delayed elections, Privert accuses Parliament

According to President a.i. Jocelerme Privert, Parliament would be responsible for the postponement of elections because it took 45 days to ratify a Prime Minister. Haiti signed the Paris agreement

Friday, the Provisional President Jocelerme Privert signed the Paris Agreement (COP21) on behalf of the Republic of Haiti. The President will be back in the country on Sunday. Note that 175 countries have signed this agreement, which to come into force should now be ratified before 21 April 2017 by the Parliament of at least 55 signatories representing 55% of greenhouse gas emissions.
