Haiti - Security : Planes diverted to the DR

Wednesday, April 27 in the evening the air traffic of the Toussaint Louverture International Airport was severely disrupted. Following a power failure on the landing runway of the airport, of planes having for destination Haiti had to be diverted to the Dominican Republic to land safely.
According to the General Directorate for National Airport Authority (AAN), the electrical problem was caused by the ongoing rehabilitation work on the part of the airport reserved for the movement and parking of aircraft, which includes parking lots and the lanes more commonly called "tarmac".
