Haiti - Elections : List of instructions and prohibitions for elections 26/11/2010 18:20:23
Due to the elections, the Haitian National Police (PNH) has adopted a number of dispositions and prohibitions in order to make safer the elections of Sunday, November 28, 2010.
From Saturday 8pm until Monday 8am:
- It is forbidden to drive a motorcycle in Port-au-Prince
- Vehicles can circulate, but all vehicles will be prohibited within 150 meters of a polling center
- No vehicles will be allowed to move from one department to another
- The nightclub will remain closed
- The sale of alcohol will be prohibited
- The sale of gasoline in containers will be banned
From Saturday 6pm until Monday 6am:
- The border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic will be closed
From Saturday 8pm until Wednesday 8am:
- All permits to carry firearms will be suspended
Remember that the polls will be open Sunday, November 28, 2010 from 6am until 4pm, well before nightfall.
