Haiti - NOTICE : Import licenses for two food products

Jessy C. Petit-Frère, Minister of Commerce and Industry (MCI), Romain Yves Bastien, the Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF) and Piere Guito Laurore the Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Rural Development (MARNDR) in a joint note, warning importers that "from Thursday, June 30, 2016, all imports of wheat flour and preparation for soups ((broths in cubes, tablets or other) is subject to an import authorization to be granted, on specific request, by the MCI.

It should be emphasized that any request for import of these products must be accompanied by copies duly authenticated by the following documents :

  • Favorable notice of MARNDR ;

  • Prerequisite Import Declaration made at the Société Générale de Surveillance S.A (SGS) ;

  • Phytosanitary certificate issued by the competent authorities of the supplier country ;

  • Certificate of origin of the goods ;

  • Pro-forma invoice issued by the supplier, stating among other address of the supplier and importer, description, weight, unit price in US dollars and the total value of the goods.

Any person infringing this provision will be punishable by law.
