Haiti - Politic : The United States suspend their assistance for elections in Haiti

Suggested Monday in the words of US Ambassador accredited to Haiti Peter F. A decision that knows that the Haitian Government since July 1 but it refrained from communicating on the subject.

Thursday, John Kirby, the State Department spokesman announced at a press briefing that the United States informed Haiti of the decision on 1 July, that the United States "has suspended its assistance toward the completion of the presidential electoral process [...] We did not plan funding for two more electoral rounds in 2016 and 2017," stressing that this decision is not a signal of "reduction in U.S. support for the development of Haiti."
