Senate session this Tuesday

This Tuesday a special session is planned in the Senate in order to plan a calendar of activities for the months of July and August, informs Steven Benoît, the new President of the Upper House, should be included in this calendar the budget vote and ratification of the choice of Michel-Ange Gédéon as Director Geenral of the National Police, of the Governor of the BRH and the Executive Council of the BNC.

Case Privert, Steven Benoît states

Steven Benoît, President of the Senate said that "There will be no session in National Assembly to decide on a roadmap" for Jocelerme Privert, stressing the unconstitutional nature of the approach of his peers. He said that in the Constitution, the National Assembly has no such attribution to rule on a roadmap, but the ratification or rejection of agreements, conventions or international treaties. Also he announces that he will not participate in the session in National Assembly to decide on the fate of Jocelerme Privert.

Women's participation in political life

Yesterday Monday, Elisabeth Beton Delègue, Ambassador of France in Haiti, met with representatives of the Symbolic Parliament of Women, whose objective is in particular to improve the participation of women in Haitian politics.

Meeting MICT, CASEC and ASEC

The Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT) organized on Friday a meeting with the presidents of associations of elected representatives and the national federation of CASEC and ASEC on the distribution of communities operating funds to introduce in the budget for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. The Minister Francois Anick Joseph recalled that since 1996 management is provided by the MICT in the absence of the still nonexistent board, by this meeting he wanted to have the opinion of the participants on the importance of the establishment of the board that would be responsible for managing and ensure the distribution of the funds to communities.

Elizabeth Béton Delègue to the PAP town hall

Friday, Ambassador of France in Haiti, Elizabeth Béton Delègue has paid a courtesy visit to the town hall of Port-au-Prince, where she met with François Anick Joseph, the new mayor on matters relating to the Franco-Haitian cooperation, were discussed inter alia the sanitation of the city.
