Haiti - Social : Privert in Anse-à-Veau to celebrate...

On Tuesday, the de facto President of the Republic, Jocelerme Privert, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Ginette Michaud Privert, of members of the government and its private cabinet, attended the Eucharistic celebration of the St. Anne Cathedral of Anse à-Veau (Nippes), on the occasion of the patronal feast of the city.

Also taking part in this solemn ceremony, parliamentarians, local elected officials, civil and political authorities, pilgrims from around...

In his homily for the occasion, the main celebrant, Mgr Pierre André Dumas, made the eulogize of the St. Anne, patron saint of Ansavelais. "Sainte-Anne is our grandmother, the mother of Mary The Virgin. It is the fragrance of the Lord's mercy," he preached, pleading for a society, a Haitibased on mercy and humanity. "There will be no New Haiti if we do not accept to go back to that logic..."

The Archbishop of Nippes, while welcoming the presence of Jocelerme Privert, who is always ready to celebrate with the populations of different cities of the Nippes department, his alma mater, called everyone "to live together in unity and mercy," to overcome the multiple problems of the country.

The vicar of the said Cathedral, Reverend Father Louis Merone, concluded the ceremony by thanking all those ho contributed to the success of the patronal feast of his city.
