Haiti - Elections : Father Jan Hansen calls for dialogue

Father Jan Hanssens, Director National of Jilap (The Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace) yesterday expressed the hope that all political decisions to be taken in connection with the electoral process, are based on a dialogue between different actors, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), political parties, candidates, members of government and civil society organizations.

"Candidates have differing views, about the continuation of the electoral process or not", he said, some calling for the invalidation of the poll because of irregularities and massive frauds, others say they do not share that opinion, confident in their chances of winning or going to the second turn, while the CEP issued itself a good report for the success of this election. while the CEP issued a good report to itself for the success of this election.

Father Jan Hanssens asked various candidates and political parties involved in the race to take a public stand in favor of non-violence to does not leave the impression of endorsing the disorder. He pleaded for justice to punish the perpetrators of violence and the CEP must punish, without any bias, any candidate who violates the rules of the game.
