Haiti - Social : Certified training in industrial sewing machine operators

Friday, the National Institute for the Development and Promotion of Sewing (INDEPCO), in partnership with the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (Minustah) launched In the commune of Trou-du-Nord a project of certified training in industrial sewing machine operators, domestic dressmaking and factory placement.

This new project estimated at 200,000 US dollars, aims to provide young men and women from disadvantaged areas of North and Northeast departments, new opportunities. It will cover the cost of training, transportation of learners, their food and a kit with the necessary working tools delivered at the end of the training cycle.

This project will affect more than 450 beneficiaries directly and indirectly for the benefit of communes of Trou du Nord, Caracol, Limonade, Quartier Morin, Cap-Haïtien as well as nearby areas.

Moreover, with the support of the INDEPCO and in addition to technical training, the young recipients will also receive psychosocial support in order to help them and facilitate their integration into the labor market.
