A bus carrying 18 passengers collided with a truck in southern Haiti, this Saturday, specifically in the town of Macéant in the commune of Aquin, about 200km from Port-au-Prince.

The two vehicles collided on a curve where a car wreck, burned by demonstrators during last Sunday's election, partially blocking the road. It's probably trying to avoid the obstacle that the tragedy occurred.

The assessment of this accident is heavy, 17 of the 18 passengers were killed instantly. The surviving passenger was seriously injured and was rushed to hospital, reported the local police commissioner Rony Cénéac.
