Haiti - EDH : A High-Tech substation in Tabarre

Friday, the de facto President Jocelerme Privert, accompanied by Jacques Evelt Eveillard, the Minister of Public Works and the Engineer Garry Valdémar, Director General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH), proceeded to the official opening in Tabarre, of a High-Tech substation of the EDH.

This substation mark the commissioning of a significant work of 115,000 KV equipped with the latest advanced technologies and whose objective is to ensure better distribution of power and energy in metropolitan grid by decongesting the substations of Canapé-Vert, Delmas, Varreux and of the Croix-des Missions.

This project was carried out thanks to funding of 16.4 million US of the Inter-American Development Bank dollars (IDB) and the work done by the Elmecen and AECOM companies under the supervision of ICP-Energie, the Ministry of Public Works and other partners. It will allow the Haitian State to attract revenue up to 28 million US dollars [theoretical revenue, since less than 50% of EDH client pay their bill].

According to the Director Valdémar, the results already recorded during the provisional reception period (test period) of these installations show that powered clients, especially those in the industrial area wil have reliable service and better quality in the coming days.

Jocelerme Privert reminded consumers and to the priority beneficiaries the necessity of protecting energy, vital to economic development and urged consumers to meet their obligations to the institution... In short term, to pay their bill...
