Haiti - Social : Haiti wins the first 2 places of the contest «Konnen'm pi byen»

As part of the Binational Program HT-RD of the European Union, a video contest "Konnen'm pi byen" was organized. In this competition of young Haitians and Dominicans had to represent the positive aspects of the binational relationship between the two countries on the island, through the production of a video with a duration of 90 seconds.

Of the 45 videos received, three were selected.

The first two places were won by Haiti, the third by the Dominican Republic.

Winning video:

First Prize :

Video : "Love, Peace and Friendship" by Aniberca Martes (Haiti)

Second Prize :

Video : "Philippe and Pamela" byMykee Richarson (Haiti)

Third Prize :

Vidro : "La convivencia con respeto" byWilmer Rosario (Dominican Republic)

Learn more about the Binational Program of the European Union :

The Binational Program between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, funded with 50 million euros by the European Union, began in 2012. It aims in particular to strengthen the political, economic, trade and environment between the two countries .

The challenge is to consolidate a sustainable and constructive partnership between the two nations for economic and social development.

Principal axes :

  • Institutional strengthening through support to both technical secretariats of the Joint Bilateral Commission and the establishment of a binational Observatory ;

  • Trade facilitation and customs harmonization ;

  • The environment and local development in border regions ;

  • The construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure in the border zone to the north of both countries.
