Haiti - FLASH : J-B Aristide in the streets of Pétion-ville

Monday, in preparation for the opening of her presidential campaign, Maryse Narcise, presidential candidate under the banner "Famni Lavalas" accompanied by former President Jean-Bertrand Aristide aka "Titide" toured the streets of Petion-ville on board a 4X4, followed by a jubilant crowd, estimated at several thousand supporters and sympathizers.

A large gathering was also held in St. Pierre Square, before former President Aristide and the candidate go greet the officers of the police officers of the police station of Pétion-ville.

Jean-Bertrand Aristide then gave a press conference at the Hotel Kinam where he presented Maryse Narcisse to local and international press as the future president of Haiti.

Excerpts from the J-B Aristide declaration :

"[...] hand in hand we will work for a general mobilization. Hand in hand, we'll walk to save our dignity. As just said the future President: Mother Haiti is ill, it is necessary that all children without distinction join hands to achieve it finds healing.

After the creation of Pétion-ville in 1931, there was the construction of Fort Jacques and of Fort Alexandre to protect citizens and the city, us who are gathered in this beautiful tour what we will bring ? We bring the force of our dignity to build another fort: Fort Dignity [...] It's not the money, it's dignity. The rendezvous of that dignity is given for 7 February 2017 at the National Palace with Dr. Maryse Narcisse as President of Haiti."

Joel Vorbe, executive of "Fanmi Lavalas" said the Party has already met with other officials of political parties, which do not have presidential candidates in a perspective of opening.

"Aristide will campaign with Maryse Narcisse," declared Leslie Voltaire, the campaign director of presidential candidate.
