Haiti - Security : Serious incident at the entrance exam to the INAGHEI

Sunday the 4,331 candidates who passed the entrance exam to the National Institute of Administration Management and International Studies (INAGHEI) of the State University of Haiti (UEH) were distributed on five locations.

Unfortunately the location of Lycée Marie-Jeanne was disrupted when supposedly students opposed to the recruitment of a new cohort of students to the UEH, deceiving the vigilance of persons in charge of the security, launched tear gas grenades at the candidates, two of which had to be rushed to the hospital.

The UEH Communication Unit emphasizes that these troublemakers are mostly former occupants of the Rectorate and the Directorate of Post-Graduate Studies, arrested during the execution of judgment of eviction https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18200-haiti-flash-end-of-6-months-of-occupation-to-the-rectorate-of-ueh.html and released a few hours after by the Government Commissioner, Me Danton Léger.

For UEH they are dangerous individuals who represent a serious threat to the community, with powerful nuisance means, including tear gas grenades.

The UEH Executive Council strongly condemns such acts and strongly condemns the perpetrators. It asked once again to the competent authorities to put the public action against them.

Moreover, UEH authorities work with other partners to allow the candidates concerned by this serious incident to resume the exams and to continue the process in a secure environment.
