In a communication to the officials of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), Friday, December 3, followed by the release of a mass medium, on several TV channels, the candidate of the party Respè has reported an alleged "counting" of ballots that have been made in a base of Minustah, and which demonstrates, according to him, the involvement of peacekeepers in the handling of ballots.

In this context, MINUSTAH has made the following clarifications:

These ballots were from voting centers have been the subject of attacks by gunmen. The sole mission of Minustah troops is, after the vote, to secure and return the ballot to election officials. Minustah calls once again for calm, patience, and respect for legal provisions, pending the publication of preliminary results on December 7.
