Haiti - Elections : Lavalas promises a Metro in Port-au-Prince
Monday, former Minister Lavalas, the architect Lesly Voltaire accompanied by the technical team of Maryse Narcisse, the presidential candidate of Fanmi Lavalas, together with representatives of the firm that built the Santo Domingo Metro, presented a project of a light Metro line of over 20km between the south and north of the capital (Carrefour-Canaan) named "Project Metro Prince".

The team of Fanmi Lavalas promises to tackle to the realization of this major infrastructure through a Public-Private-Population Partnership (PPP), as soon as Maryse Narcisse will be elected as President of the Republic of Haiti.

The Metro would serve nearly one million people and help to decongest the saturated urban transport in the capital, while having a positive impact on the economy and the environment by reducing pollution.
