Haiti - Football U-17 : The Grenadiers champions of the Caribbean
Sunday at Hasely Crawford Stadium (Port of Spain), as part of the final of the Caribbean Cup U-17 (also counting for the 2nd phase of qualifying for the World Cup FIFA U-17, India 2017), our young Grenadiers who faced Cuba retained their title of champion of the Caribbean, won in 2014 against Jamaica [2-0] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12382-haiti-u17-football-the-grenadiers-caribbean-champions-defeated-jamaica-[2-0].html by crushing the Cuban selection 5-0.

In the first period, Cubans have opposed a nice resistance against Grenadiers, conceding 1 goal by Steeve Moodestin 35 '.

At halftime, the score is [1-0] for Haiti.

After the break Cuban resistance has given way to the determination of our Grenadiers and conceded 4 goals : Steeve Selso 54', Jacques Danley 61', Louidon Casseus 78', Nael Elysee 90’+2.

A tournament that ends beautifully for young foals James Mauricette (14 goals scored), assured of playing the final phase of the qualifiers in Panama City in April-May 2017.

In addition to the championship title, two of our best players won individual awards: Steeve Selso (best player and top scorer of the tournament - 5 goals) and Redondo Alliance (best goalkeeper of the tournament, conceding just one goal).
