The Presidency's Communication Office informs the population that by order dated 8 October 2016, the Sunday 9, Monday 10 and Tuesday, October 11, 2016, are declared days of national mourning.

These 3 of days of national mourning, wording days, are declared in order to associate the whole country to the mourning of elatives and friends of missing persons and to the suffering of the affected populations throughout the country by the devastating effects of the passage of the hurricane Matthew over Haiti.

During the 3 days of mourning, the national flag will be flown at half mast, nightclubs and similar establishments will remain closed and the radio and television stations are invited to schedule emissions and appropriate music.
