Over 70% of Voting centers unusable
In the Department of South, 112 of the 157 buildings selected as Voting centers for elections are no longer usable.

2 million people affected
Saturday within a delegation including among others the Haitian authorities and the Minustah, Ambassador of the European Union, Vincent Degert flew over the most affected areas by Matthew. The delegation also visited Jérémie and Les Cayes and attended a meeting at the Departmental Emergency Operations Centre (COUD). With some cities destroyed up to 80% and more than 2 million people affected, the extent of damage and humanitarian needs are considerable. The European Union, with Member States (France, UK, Spain, Netherlands...) and partners (NGOs, international organizations) is fully mobilize, in support of the authorities to rescue as soon populations.

NOTICE Matthew : people who lost their CIN
All people of the Deep South who lost their National Identification Card during the passage of Mattweh, can call 2944 2392/2944 2396 Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm. Give the operator your name, date of birth and place of birth for ONI redo your card. You have until October 21 to do so.

Privert met the national and international partners
Monday at the National Palace as part of the evaluation of the post-Matthew situation, the de facto President Jocelerme Privert, accompanied by Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles, held a meeting with national and international partners including the Minustah and UNOPS. Saturday, François Anick Joseph, the Minister of Interior and Territorial Communities welcomed a team of 6 expert of CDRU (CARICOM Disaster Relief Unit) deployed in support to the Haitian civil protection structures;

Monday, Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles received in audience, US Senator Edward "Ed" John Markey.
