On Thursday, Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles, also Minister of National Defence (MDN), honored the body of military engineers and the medical and health body of MDN dispatched in Les Cayes and Jérémie during the passage of Hurricane Matthew.

The Minister of National Defence, Jean-Charles took the opportunity to hand over a plaque of honor and merit to the nurse Agena Farah Louis. From Bonbon to Jérémie, defying the wrath of Matthew, agents of the Mandatory Mixed Civic Service (SCMO) of health and medical bodies of MDN, led by the nurse Agena Farah Louis, have provided first aid care and administered medication to hundreds of serious injuries of Matthew.

Moreover, to facilitate the free movement of the first food aid, medical and health to the victims of Hurricane in Les Cayes, to Jérémie and Léogâne, of Haitian military engineers have rendered accessible several sections of roads blocked by fallen trees and remove more than 500 cubic meters of alluvium deposited by rain.

At work despite the violence of the hurricane on 3 and 4 October, MDN military engineers also curate bank and gullies while helping to move people in danger.
