Ronald Baudin, Minister of Economy and Finance, presented yesterday, Monday, the state budget for 2010-2011. For the first time, the budget exceeds 100 billion, reaching a total of 106.3 billion gourds. In this budget, 34.3 billion gourds will be allocated to operating expenses of the state and 71.9 billion for investment.

He said that the investment spending will be funded from the public treasury (12.5 billion), the Petro Caribe (12.5 billion), [integrated for the first time in the budget] and Cooperation International (43.9 billion gourds).

Regardless of how Ronald Baudin presents his budget, it must be remembered that ± 66% of the national budget, either close of two thirds of our public expenditure depend on the international community [according to the Initiative Civil society] either : Donations (46.34%), Loans (9.39%), Petro Caribe Fund (8.07%).
