Haiti - Quebec : First course of Creole and history of Haiti in Canada

The Language Centre and the Department of History of the University of Sherbrooke, innovate and create the very first class of Creole and history of Haiti in Canada. Registration for the winter semester are open.

The first course (Monday, January 10, 2011, from 9:00am to 12:00pm), exceptionally open to the public (by conference), will be led by prominent journalists and personalities from the Haitian community, all gathered around the same objectives: disprove the misconceptions associated with the country; paint a picture of the situation since the earthquake of January 12, 2010, and initiate new questions relating to social issues.

At emphasize the presence of Jacqueline Corkery, reporter for CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation). Author of a yet unpublished reportage on the issue of adoption in Haiti after the earthquake, she will present the results of her work and tell her experience on the field.
