Haiti - FLASH : Results should not compromise stability
The de facto President of the Republic, Jocelerme Privert, gave a press briefing Monday at the National Palace, to a few hours from the publication of the preliminary results of the elections of 20 November.

At the press briefing, the Head of State called for calm and serenity and urged candidates to use he legal processes dictated by the electoral law and the Constitution in case there would be challenges to the said results.

"The preliminary results of these elections should in no way compromise the socio-economic stability of the country," declared Privert, recalling that the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) enjoys all its independence in the context of these elections and that the Executive has refrained from any interference in the electoral process.
