Sunday morning in the jurisdiction of Juan Rodríguez Clara, municipality of Cuenca del Papaloapan (Mexico), a bus carrying 51 passengers from Haiti overturned.

A spokesman for the Federal Police Division, road division in El Piñero de la Cuenca, said the accident took place on the Tinaja-Cosoleacaque highway at kilometer 167 in the section Acayucan-Cosamaloapan.

According to initial investigations, the bus would have been overturned after the driver had lost control of his vehicle for some unknown reason. Following this accident, the driver fled without worrying about the health of his passengers.

Road authorities and rescue teams were mobilized quickly in the area and provided medical assistance to a dozen passengers suffering various injuries. Miracle of Christmas, no deaths are reported.

The injured were transported to the "Metropolitano" and "Porvenir" clinics of the municipality of Acayucan.
