5 questions important for the future of Haiti
"[...] The events of 2016 show us the scale of the challenges that Haiit must face in 2017. Will the country be up to it ?" said the American ambassador in Haiti Peter Mulrean who wonders and asks 5 important questions for the future of Haiti :

  • Will the presidential candidates will be ready to accept the final results at the end of this month, the result of a process recognized by all Haitian and international observers as credible and greatly improved compared to 2015 ?
  • Will some political actors will stop using the streets to sow fear, to weaken the democratic process and to prevent the Haitian average to Celebrate the Feasts in Peace ?
  • Will the new government and the new parliament will have the wisdom to work together to makes move forward laws and programs that will meet the real needs of the people ?
  • Will the private sector will have the courage to prioritize projects that promote long-term economic development and not the immediate small-scale benefits ?
  • Will the international community will be ready to mobilize the necessary resources to accompany Haiti in a development partnership with objectives defined together and aimed at the advancement of the average Haitian ?
