In a diplomatic note, on the occasion of the 213th anniversary of the independence of Haiti, His Majesty the King of Morocco Mohammed VI, addressed a message to de facto President of Haiti Jocelerme Privert.

In his message King Mohammed VI expressed his warm congratulations to Privert and "his wishes of progress and prosperity to the friendly Haitian people."

Moreover, the Moroccan Sovereign welcomed "the solid ties of friendship and mutual respect uniting the Moroccan and Haitian peoples", assuring the Head of State of Haiti, "the strong attachment of the Kingdom of Morocco to the consolidation of the fruitful cooperation and active solidarity relations with the Republic of Haiti, with a view to raising them at the level of a dynamic and mutually beneficial South-South partnership."
