Haiti - Dominican Republic : Massacre of a Haitian family

Saturday evening, a Haitian family with two children, was assassinated with machetes and sticks by individuals of the same nationality, in Las Matas de Farfán, San Juan (Dominican Republic). The victims were identified as Camile Antoine (35), sa concubine Jeaneta Joseph (34) and their 2 children Antoine Joseph (7) and Bacachata Antoine Joseph (5).

The coroner's report indicates that all victims had injuries in different parts of the body, particularly the head and certify the cause of death was due to multiple wounds from white weapons.

According to a preliminary report published by the Regional Office West of the Dominican National Police, this quadruple murder would have been committed by 3 Haitian suspects : Yefferson Memé (38) and his concubine Anius Shal, 32, who were arrested and a third man identified as Joseph, on the run and wanted.

Brigadier General Aquino Radhames Reynoso Robles, Director of the Western Regional Police based in San Juan de la Maguana, said that according to initial statements of the arrested suspects, the victims Camile Antoine and Jeaneta Joseph had returned to the Dominican Republic, after visiting Haiti to practice acts of witchcraft against them, for a confused history of passionate revenge...

The bodies of the victims were sent to the Dr. Ramon Armando Aybar Hospital of the city and then to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences-INACIF, Azua for autopsies, at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor.
