Tuesday, the elected President of Haiti, Jovenel Moïse at the head of a Haitian delegation, visited several power plant in the Dominican Republic, as part of a private visit, which began Monday where he with President Danilo Medina https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19822-haiti-flash-jovenel-moise-met-president-medina.html

He visited among others the AES Dominicana natural gas complex, located in Andrés (Boca Chica), which will enter in operation this year, as well as the gas terminal facilities, which will be able to re-export gas to other Caribbean islands including Haiti and which has the largest storage capacity in Central America and the Caribbean.

"We come to see what our Dominican brothers are doing [...] Haiti needs to improve its energy generation matrix, hence our interest in knowing the Dominican experience [....]" declared Jovenel Moïse.

He then went to the installation of Punta Catalina project, where the Dominican government operates two coal-fired power plants before visiting the important solar power plant "Monte Plata Solar" in the province of Monte Plata (about 60 kilometers of Santo Domingo), considered the largest solar power plant in the Region with 132,000 solar panels installed. This solar power plant, once completed, will total 270,000 solar panels and produce up to 67 MW of clean and renewable electricity.
