On the night from Thursday 3 to Friday 4 February, the Municipal Administration of Port-au-Prince, accompanied by representatives of the Public Prosecutor's Office, Justice of the Peace, Delia Fritz and the National Police of Haiti, on the instructions of the Principal Mayor, Ralph Youri Chevry conducted an inspection of several institution, nightclubs and motels in the commune of Port-au-Prince, some of thel operating illegally.

During this operation, more than a dozen people were arrested including at least 4 minors. Several nightclubs in the vicinity of schools located on Rue Capois have been sealed for non-compliance with the standards of the hotel industry because they are likely to encourage pimping and prostitution among young people in particular.

Deputy Mayor Bernard Joseph, who was present during the operation, said "we must at all costs preserve the innocence of our young people, it is inadmissible in a society blossomed and responsible to have the presence of these in such an environment."

According to Juan Carlos Chevalier, Director of the Municipal Administration of Port-au-Prince, also present in this nocturnal inspection "all hotel establishments and nightclubs of the place have the obligation to conform themselves to the principles in force in accordance with the laws of the Republic to combat in particular against the child prostitution that gangrene our society."

Mayor Chevry wanted to recall that youth prostitution and minors is a matter that must interpellate our society "[...] our young people have dreams for the future that must be protected [...] We must at all cost educate our young people on the realities of prostitution to prevent this violence."
