Haiti - Canada : Day of promotion of Haiti

Wednesday, 17 May, as part of the celebration of 150 years of Canadian Confederation, the City of Ottawa invites all accredited embassies in Canada to participate in this grand event, by offering each a day where they can promote their respective cultures. All the ceremonies organized by the Diplomatic Corps will be held at the Lansdowne Park Horticulture Building, a space made available to embassies by the City of Ottawa.

The Embassy of Haiti in Canada, responding to this invitation, decided to incorporate the festivities of this event by organizing a day of promotion of Haiti on Wednesday, May 17 (the eve of the commemoration of the national holiday of the Haitian Flag). From 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, the Embassy will organize a large exhibition-fair during which various local products will be highlighted. Information kiosks, presentations, sales, of different articles and products of Haiti, will be available to a wide audience.

This activity targets sectors such as crafts, investment, trade, tourism, education, culinary arts, music and dance. The Embassy relies on the collaboration and suggestions of community associations in the region for the success of this day.

True to tradition, Frantz Liautaud, Haiti's Ambassador to Canada, will host at noon, for a large reception the members of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives of the Canadian government, as well as representatives of the Haitian community.

The cultural part of the day will be animated by: a group of troubadours, interactive dance, drum, storytelling and youth workshops and other fun and promotional activities.

The Embassy of Haiti in Canada is looking forward to seeing you at this fair-exhibition open to all.
