Dr. Jack Guy Lafontant, 56, which has just been invested and installed as Prime Minister of Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20430-haiti-politics-prime-minister-s-inauguration-and-installation-ceremonies.html is an internist and gastroenterologist, teacher of gastroenterology at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of the State University of Haiti (UEH) and at the University of Notre Dame of Haiti.

He studied medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of the State University of Haiti, promoted in 1987. He then moved to Europe to specialize in internal medicine and gastroenterology. His reputation has grown internationally thanks to his extensive research with American universities. He is also a member of the American College of Gastroenteroly and Treasurer of the Haitian Medical Association. "Not a simple technician, but above all a good manager," adds a collaborator.

Dr. Lafontant also served for about ten years as Director of the Sainte Croix Hospital in Leogane. His administration bring visible changes at this Hospital. Presented as someone "very rigorous on the principles", Jack Guy Lafontant invested a great part of his skills, his time, his networking at the service of the community especially in the situations of crisis.

After January 12, he was on the committee of doctors who volunteered with victims. After Hurricane Matthew last October, he mobilized with the Rotary Club of Petion-Ville - of which he is the president for the period 2016-2017 - to organize aid for the victims of the great South.

Married, father of three children whose the elder is also a doctor by profession, the younger student in odontology and the youngest in his teenage years.
