Haiti - Social : The «Kore Lavi» program extended by 2 years 04/04/2017 10:34:45 Recall that the Kore Lavi Program, launched in September 2013, true social safety net in Haiti, is the result of a plea made in Washington DC by Sophia Martelly in the summer of 2012. This program, with an initial duration of 4 years, had a direct impact on more than 18,000 households through the provision of monthly social assistance via an electronic platform (food voucher for the purchase of exclusively local products) and 205,000 people through interventions in maternal and child health and nutrition in 16 food-insecure communes, distributed in 5 departments : Centre, Artibonite, North West, Southeast and West. The Director Juvenal stressed that the NGO consortium, which manages this program in Haiti, will take advantage of this extension to strengthen the transfer of knowledge to the Haitian State, so that it can take control and take over from this program in the future. According to Laurore Antoine, the Technical Coordinator of the food security component of "Kore Lavi", nearly $ 9 million has already been injected into targeted communes since the launch of the program.
