Tuesday, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Roosevelt Bellevue, in the presence of Ministry officials, BSEIPH employees, representatives of national and international organizations working in the field of disability, proceeded to the installation of Gérald Oriol Jr as Secretary of State for the Integration of People with Disabilities (BSEIPH). In his speech for the occasion, M. Oriol is committed to working more with the collaboration of all sectors of national life to a concrete improvement in the living conditions of people with disabilities.

Excerpt from the speech of Gérald Oriol Jr. :

I am called to continue the institutionalization phase of public policies on disability, while at the same time working to improve the living conditions of people with disabilities. This transversal work can only be carried out with the cooperation and positive energy of all the actors directly concerned, but also with the contribution of all sectors of national life.

I guarantee to all of us that we will work together to go much further in the struggle for full recognition of the rights of citizens living with a disability. I therefore appeal to the collaboration of partners in the public sector, the private business sector, international partners and civil society, and above all I call on the collaboration of national and international associations and institutions working in the field of disability, people with disabilities themselves and all Haitians from everywhere.

Include, means working together to address the challenges and build differently the future. More than before, we opt for teamwork and the pursuit of projects opened. Of new projects will also be explored. In everything and everywhere, we must act with integrity, efficiency and professionalism.

Old and new employees BSEIPH at any level that you belong, I count on you [...] It is more necessary than ever that people with disabilities receive services with dignity and respect. Whether we have little or no means, we owe them a warm welcome at all times [...]"
