Haiti - Politics : Moïse, commemorates the 214th anniversary of the death of Toussaint Louverture 08/04/2017 09:15:21
On Friday, 7 April, as part of the commemoration of the 214th anniversary of the death of Toussaint Louverture, President Jovenel Moïse, accompanied by First Lady Martine Moïse and Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant, laid a wreath, to the Museum of the Haitian National Pantheon (MUPANAH), in memory of the Precursor of Independence of Haiti, Toussaint Louverture. In the presence of the President of the Senate, Youri Latortue, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Cholzer Chancy, the President of the Court of Cassation, Jules Cantave, ministers, members of the Haitian National Police (PNH) and senior government officials, the Head of State praised this immense figure of the struggle for the Independence of the First Black Republic of the world. President Moïse then visited the Heroes' Gallery and signed the MUPANAH Guest Book, before attending, in the presence among others of schoolchildren, to the traditional parade performed by the various units of the PNH.
