Haiti - Sports : Minister Régine Lamur in the Dominican Republic
Régine Lamur, Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, accompanied by Jude Désir, the Director of Physical Activities and Sports of the Ministry, recently represented Haiti at the XVII Ordinary General Assembly of the American Sport Council (CADE) and to the XXII Assembly of the Ibero-American Sport Council (CID) to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, which brought together more than 30 countries in the Americas.

Was discussed in particular the public policy relating to sport, physical education and doping, as well as the holding in November of Central American and Caribbean School Sports Games (JEDECAC) in Venezuela and the organization of the VIII International Convention on Physical Activities and Sport (AFIDE 2017) in Havana.

At the end of these Assemblies, participants adopted "The Santo Domingo Declaration", which reaffirms the commitment of the delegates : to develop public policies focusing on school sport; To create conditions to stimulate private investment in sport; To put in place good governance mechanisms; To promote consideration of the aspirations of the Olympic movement and federated sport in public policies; To continue efforts to combat doping in sport through the establishment of a National Anti-Doping Agency and to support the strengthening of CADE, in order to guarantee its permanence and effectiveness.
