Haiti - Security : New measures to secure the population
At a press briefing, Jeantel Joseph, the Secretary of State for Public Security, said last week, that in terms of security, he already had control of all the regions of the country...

He announced that various measures will be adopted to create a favorable investment climate and allow citizens to safely go about their daily business. He spoke of the establishment of a national intelligence system, including a warning center; Of the deployment of 1,000 brigadiers for road safety throughout the country, a force that he intends to increase to 3,000 before next September. On this last point, the Secretary of State has remained silent on the recruitment methods, training and working conditions of these brigadiers...

In addition to these aspects, he referred to the control of firearms, the security of the banking establishments, the control of public transport in bus stations, the fight against noise nuisance and the continuation of the professionalization program of the National Police of Haiti (PNH).

Note that the Alert Center in question has been in operation since Friday 21 April and allows all citizens to report all the criminal offenses of which they are witnesses and acts of disturbance to public order.
