Haiti - Politics : Moïse receives new FIFA President
Saturday at the National Palace, President Jovenel Moïse, accompanied by Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant, received the new President of the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA), the Italian-Swiss Giani Infantino (successor of Joseph S. Blatter) on a quick visit to Haiti https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-20797-icihaiti-sports-first-visit-to-haiti-of-new-fifa-president.html

At the end of the meeting, at a joint press conference between the Head of State and the President of FIFA, in the presence among others of the Minister of Sports, Régine Lamur, the President of CONCACAF, Victor Montagliani and the President of the Haitian Football Federation, Yves Jean-Bart, the Head of State declared "We are happy and we congratulate FIFA for agreeing to accompany football and the Haitian Government through its program of assistance to member associations, in particular in the training of educators and the provision of training and training equipment," noting in particular FIFA's important support in airline tickets for national teams for travel to foreign land.

The Head of State also stressed the importance of the assistance given to sport by the Haitian State in the last 6 years, among other things in the multiplication of sports infrastructures throughout the country. However, he recalled the need for Haitian football to continue to benefit from the expertise and assistance of FIFA, with a view to finalizing the sports infrastructures built and helping Haiti to obtain international certifications for these parks and mini-stadiums, according to the criteria of the International Football Association Board of FIFA.

Gianni Infantino, believes that by channeling and structuring the talent and passion of football among young people, results will be exceptional in Haiti "We have a responsibility within FIFA for football. Our mission is to develop this sport. If we work together, National Federations, CONCACAF and FIFA, we can do it. Haiti has my biggest support, especially in the project to build a large football stadium in the country. We will work together," which boasted its decision to increase to 48, the number of teams participating in the Football World Cup. This, he said, should facilitate the participation of more countries.

President Moïse promised that the State will continue to provide direct subsidies to all National Sports Federations in Haiti. Recognizing the difficulties that clubs face across the country, and despite the major urgency that face the country, the Head of State continues to support the Government's program consisting of a grant two to three times a year, via the federations, to all the men and women clubs of D1 and D2 of the country.
