Haiti - Politics : Review of the first legislative session
onday, deputies and senators gathered in the National Assembly, have closed the first ordinary session of the legislative year 2017. With 26 senators out of 29 and 91 deputies out of 117, what is a record for a General Assembly in this first legislative session.

Youri Latortue, the President of the Assembly, recalled that during this first session, the Senate had held 32 plenary sessions, 4 General Assembly, voted 12 laws and ratified 3 international conventions.

For his part, Jean Willer Jean, the first Secretary of the Bureau of the Lower House, said that the deputies held 24 plenary sessions, voted 5 bills out of 2 submitted by the Executive, passed a proposed legislation out of 6 submitted by parliamentarians and submitted 7 Commission reports.

A substantial balance of the two rooms one had lost the habit for many years...
