Haiti - Politics : Message from Deputy Tardieu to the new President of France
Following the presidential election in France, the Deputy of Pétion-ville Jerry Tardieu (VERITE), President of the Haiti-France Friendship Group in the Haitian Parliament, welcomed the victory of the new President Emmanuel Macron.

"As President of the Haiti-France Friendship Group in Parliament, I welcome the great victory of Emmanuel Macron in the French presidential election. On behalf of this friendship group working to consolidate the various future partnerships between Haiti and France, I wish President Macron, and Prime Minister Edouard Philippe he appointed Monday, that he could certainly work for the prosperity of the peoples of France and Europe but ALSO and ESPECIALLY that he can work to strengthen the ties between the Haitian people and the French people. Several Haitian and French deputies of the Haiti-France friendship group are working through active parliamentary diplomacy.

To the French President Emmanuel Macron, the Friendship Group wishes courage in the exercise of these noble and heavy tasks.

The ratification of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change remains one of the many major projects on which the Haiti-France Friendship Group and the Haitian Parliament wish to collaborate closely with the French legislative and executive authorities in the years to come."
