Haiti - Europe : European Investment Bank on exploratory visit to the country
Monday at the National Palace, President Jovenel Moïse, accompanied by Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant, in the presence of Jude Alix Patrick Salomon, Minister of Economy and Charles Jean-Jacques, Authorizing Officer of the European Development Fund (EDF) in Haiti, held a meeting with a high-level delegation from the European Investment Bank (EIB) led by its Vice-President, Pim Van Ballekom, on an exploratory visit to Haiti, to identify new Investment opportunities.

Discussions focused on priority areas that the Government of Haiti intends to develop or strengthen in sectors such as agriculture, road and school infrastructure, energy, tourism, health and social housing.

At the end of the meeting, during a press briefing the EIB Vice-President reiterated his interest in the development of his operations in Haiti in support of the Government's investment program. He informed that experts from both sides will work together to identify the best projects to be financed from EIB funds.
