Pierre Marie Du Mény, the Minister of Trade and Industry, noting the failure to comply with the Notice on posting and the regular currency for trade, intervenes to remind the public in general and traders in particular that, now, the prices of all commodities must be denominated in gourde throughout the whole territory in accordance with Article 6 of the 1987 Constitution.

Merchants and service providers will also have to use the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) benchmark rate for any transaction requiring conversion.

The Ministry will ensure, through its inspectors brigades, the strict observance of the notice and will enforce against any offender the most stringent legal provisions on the matter.
